Macclesfield Town's last-ever manager is out of work again

The last man to ever manage Macclesfield Town has lost his most recent job.

Ex-England goalkeeper Tim Flowers, who was managed Macclesfield FC from August 2020 to September 2020 without a competitive first game, was most recently the manager of Stratford Town F.C.

The Southern League Premier Division Central side parted ways with Flowers after they failed to get promoted.

The Warwickshire club currently sit 12th out of 21 teams in their league, which is two promotions above where Macclesfield FC currently are.

In a statement the Stratford-upon-Avon outfit said: "Stratford Town FC can confirm Tim Flowers has left his position of first team manager."

Chairman Jed McCrory said "I'd had a few discussions with Tim about the rest of the season. He'd indicated that he had some other projects that he was keen to work on and we amicably decided that for both parties it was a good time to move on.

"I'd like to thank Tim for his efforts during his time with us, he'll be welcome back anytime to the Arden Garages Stadium and we wish him good luck in the future."

Tim Flowers said "I came in to help in November [2021] with a brief from the club and with eight games to go this season it looks like were set for our status in the division. I thought it was a good time for someone to come in and start preparing for next season.

"I leave friends with Jed; I've got a lot of respect for him and he's doing a great job here. I wish the club, and everyone involved with it all the best going forward and I'll have my eye on results and I hope everything goes well."

Tim left the midlands club as of March 18.

Silkmen fans will remember that Tim Flowers unfairly lost his job at Macclesfield Town due to the club being wound up on September 16 2020. His premature tenure in our town lasted just 19 days.

Current Macclesfield FC boss Danny Whitaker was one of Flowers' Assistant Managers in his very brief spell.

He replaced Mark Kennedy, and will forever be known as the final Macclesfield Town manager.

Other than Stratford, he's also worked for Barnet since losing his Macclesfield job.
