£1000 raised for Mountain Rescue which serves Macclesfield

A Macclesfield Nub News sponsor just gave away two grand, half of it to a charity which partially serves Macclesfield.

Easy Winning Limited have just presented the cheques for one of their latest raffles.

The online raffle firm recently held a raffle where they gave £1000 to the public, and £1000 to charity.

The £1000 member of the public winner was won by Lyndsey Piert. The contest winner was ticket number 2567.

And a further £1000 - made of proceeds from the draw - went to Buxton Mountain Rescue.

Easy Winning Limited Founder Charles Edwards said: "Huge thanks everyone who got involved in the charity competition."

"£1000 raised for Buxton Mountain Rescue Team. This team plays a vital role in keeping us safe and it was great to meet the team.

A familiar site on Macclesfield's Tegg's Nose, Shutlingsloe and Shining Tor, Buxton Mountain Rescue are based in Dove Holes but cover a vast geographic area.

A recent rescue included saving someone who jumped from the waterfall at Three Shires Head near Macclesfield.

Buxton Mountain Rescue were contacted by Macclesfield Nub News for comment.

Their Fundraising Officer Adam Gatenby said: "Buxton Mountain Rescue Team operates entirely on donations from our wonderful community."

"The donation made by Easy Winning Ltd will allow our team to help preserve life in wild and remote places. 

"In the near future we are hoping to fundraise for a new vehicle to replace one of the four that we operate with.

"We would like to extend our wholehearted thanks to Charlie at Easy Winnings Ltd for his very generous donation."

Easy Winning Limited was founded in 2020. The Buxton-based business has given away £1.3 million in prizes to over 2800 people.
