A long-running Macclesfield eatery has reopened food service for lunch.

Chestergate Bistro, of Chestergate's west side, is now open for lunch once again.

The restaurant, of 66 Chestergate, will now serve lunch three days a week, in addition to their nighttime offering.

There's a brand new separate lunch menu with this announcement, with dishes like pork belly salad or tagliatelle pasta with vegetables and roasted halloumi.

Sangram Shinde is the new Manager of Chestergate Bistro, explained what the new lunch menu is all about. 

"It has been closed for a year, but it is quite a festive time right now, so we feel it is the right time to get people for lunch again," he said.

"The Tagliatelle Tomato, cream, courgette, asparagus, red pepper & roasted halloumi is quite a star. 

"On the wraps we have a confit duck wrap which is pretty cool. And I'd recommend the pork belly salad. 

"And we have added dessert for lunch as well this time, the crème brûlée is perfect for lunch."

Sangram, who has worked with Michelin Star Chef Marcus Wareing for over a decade, is delighted to serve Chestergate Bistro's lunch to the people of Macclesfield once again.

"We're very excited to open it fully, until now it only felt like we were half open," he added.

"And looking at how busy Chestergate and Macclesfield has recently got with all the new venues, we thought it was a perfect time to add to the hospitality scene."

In addition to this, a new evening menu has launched with French onion soup with ox cheek, sea bream and duck leg being new dishes. 

Chestergate Bistro is now open for lunch on Thursday to Saturday from 11:30am to 2:30pm. 

They are still open for dinner from 5:30pm onwards.

Head Chef Danny Novosad who has worked for the Macclesfield restaurant for over ten years said: "We are very excited to showcase our culinary skills on the new lunch menu."

At the end of the month, they will move towards a festive menu, which will include items like pumpkin soup, chicken liver parfait, turkey breast, lamb shank, and whiskey bread and butter pudding to come.
