Macclesfield: Could you take part in Cheshire's amateur-sport answer to the Olympics?

The Olympic Games are on this summer in Paris, but this doesn't mean you can't enjoy competitive team sports at home.

This June, Macclesfield Leisure Centre providers Everybody Health & Leisure are marking a decade in operation with a decathlon of sports for the community to compete in.

Everybody are calling inclusive groups, schools, businesses and community groups across Cheshire East to take part in the Everybody Games.

The Everybody Games is a three-day extravaganza to celebrate Everybody Health & Leisure's 10th birthday as a leisure trust.

Macclesfield Leisure Centre is ran by Everybody Health and Leisure.

Packed with exciting challenges designed to test both your mind and body, the games promises to be an unforgettable experience filled with camaraderie, laughter and healthy competition.

The Everybody Games is based around a team of 8 people (you can enter with less but some team members will have to go twice).

Lee Malkin, Sports Development Manager at Everybody Health & Leisure shares: "We are excited to bring teams together from across Cheshire East to celebrate 10 years of Everybody Health & Leisure and compete in some fun challenges."

"We've planned ten activity stations that teams will have to complete, with the aim to get the highest score in order to be crowned the Everybody Games Champions 2024."

There are ten sports, one for each year Everybody has existed for, in the order of:

Station 1 – Throwing for Points

Station 2 – Operations Relay

Station 3 – Obstacle Course

Station 4 – Fitness Station

Station 5 – Giant Puzzle

Station 6 – Archery

Station 7 – New Age Kurling

Station 8 – Inflatable Nerf Gun Alley

Station 9 – Inflatable Dart Board

Station 10 – Water Challenge

The event is to celebrate ten years of Everybody as a trust. They operate Macclesfield Leisure Centre on Priory Lane.

As well as the games activities, there will be fun things happening for spectators and participants to enjoy, from a BBQ to a smoothie station, stalls, and prizes to win.

From giant puzzles to inflatable dart boards, the Everybody Games promises something for everyone.

Maxonians are invited to take part, in the borough-wide event that will be held at Congleton Leisure Centre.

Each day of the games will be for a different part of the community.

The Everybody Games are being held to celebrate the growth, success & achievements of Everybody with the local communities across Cheshire East, including inclusive groups, schools, community groups and local businesses.

First up is the Inclusive Games, on Thursday 6th June, 9.30am – 2.30pm.

Then there is the School Games, on Friday 7th June, 10am – 2.30pm (Primary School year 6 only).

Finally, there is the Community Games, on Saturday 8th June, 12pm – 5pm (Age 16+ years).

Registration closes on May 24, and rumour has it Nub News might be having a team.
