A pub in the Macclesfield countryside is to host a Caribbean evening.
The Ship Inn, in Wincle, will save you the cost of a ticket to the Bahamas, with a Caribbean themed evening.
The free-to-enter event will 'set sail' as it were, on Saturday September 14 at 6:30pm.
It promises a night of island vibes - fitting as the pub shares a name with a boat after all - and flavours of the Caribbean.
Their menu already features some Caribbean influence, in addition to hearty, traditional pub classics.
West Indian Jerk Chicken is a top-seller on their menu, and there's rums behind the bar.
More surprise Caribbean dishes will be served on the day.
The authenticity of said dishes will be in great hands, as co-publican Christine Hartley is of Caribbean origin, and there is not a cuisine that co-publican and chef James Hartley cannot master.
The event will feature a steel drum band, calypso dancing and a limbo competition.
You could even coming in costume, in your tropical holiday shirt, or perhaps as Captain Jack Sparrow.
The event is free to go to, but booking is required. Please book via 01260 227217 if you are interested.
The September 14 get-together also services as another cause for celebration for the pub, which just recently won an award.
If you can't wait until then, the pub also has a big event on this month.
On Saturday August 24, The Ship Inn will host a summer party, which is also free to enter. (No booking required for this one).
There will be karaoke, a BBQ, return of the pub's outdoor bar, plus activities for the kids.
