A group in Macclesfield will pay tribute to the late actress and singer Jane Birkin, who passed away last summer.

The Club Franco-britannique de Macclesfield usually meets on the last Tuesday of the month at the Masonic Hall in Macclesfield, presenting a programme of events for Francophiles in French.

This month on the evening of Tuesday June 25, they will welcome Xavier Lavry, Course Advisor (Student Marketing and Recruitment) at the University of Manchester, who will be presenting an entertaining talk on the life of actress and singer, Jane Birkin.

From being a muse to Serge Gainsbourg, and collaborator on the controversial UK Number one single Je t'aime... moi non plus (and album of the same name), to her role as a French cinema hero, Jane has been sorely missed in both nations since she passed away last July.
