Chip shop calls on support from Macclesfield community to help keep their doors open

A chip shop has issued a plea for support.
Jordan's Crompton Road Chippy has taken to social media to call on Macclesfield residents to back local, independent, businesses like them.
It comes amid a challenging time for the hospitality industry, with costs on the rise and footfall dwindling.
The 129-year-old shop say they are now at a 'crossroads' and need the support of the community to keep them going.
The Facebook post, shared on Friday (May 23), reads: "We never thought we'd have to write a post like this – but here we are, reaching out with heavy hearts and hopeful spirits.
"Jordan's Crompton Road Chippy has proudly served the people of Macclesfield with traditional, freshly made fish and chips, always striving to deliver quality, friendly service, and a warm smile.
"This shop isn't just a business – it's a part of the community, a place where stories are shared and meals bring people together.
"But the truth is, we're struggling. Like many small, local businesses, we've been hit hard by rising costs and a significant drop in footfall.
"Despite our best efforts, we're now at a crossroads – and we need your support more than ever to keep our doors open."
It continues: "If you've enjoyed a meal with us in the past, please consider visiting us again.
"If you've been meaning to try us out, now is the time.
"Whether it's popping in for a portion of chips, spreading the word to friends and family, or sharing this post – it all helps more than you know.
"Every single order makes a difference. Every show of support brings us one step closer to staying open and continuing to serve this community we love so much.
"We're not giving up – but we can't do it alone.
"Thank you for reading, and thank you for believing in local businesses like ours. We hope to see you soon."
