KFC has revealed the number of jobs available at their new restaurant launching in Macclesfield.

It has been confirmed that there will be 40 jobs brought to the area from the opening.

The fast food restaurant is set open in Barracks Mill Retail Park on Black Lane in Macclesfield, despite previous disputes against developing the area.

The opening is currently planned for late 2022/early 2023 with construction underway, and signage already up on an advertising board.

Macclesfield Nub News contacted a spokesperson for a comment.

"The rumours are true, The Colonel is coming to town later this year," said a KFC spokesperson.

"We know we've got lots of KFC fans in Macclesfield - and we love the area too.

"We're busy getting our chicks in a row but we can't wait to settle in, bringing our famously delicious fried chicken and 40 new jobs to the area.

"Once we're up and running, the restaurant will offer locals dine-in, takeaway, delivery and click and collect so watch this space."

However, the news of their opening has resulted in varied opinions from Macclesfield Nub News readers.

"Probably the worst kept secret in the town. But it is great to know the last shop coming to Barracks Mill," said one Nub News reader.

"Another nail in the coffin of our town centre, and for all our independent shops and cafes. So sad that this got planning permission," said another.

"Love a KFC on occasion, going to be a hard to avoid going more often living so close by," joked another.
