A festive message to you from the Mayor of Macclesfield

Macclesfield's current Mayor has shared a Christmas message to readers of Macclesfield Nub News.

Mayor David Edwardes, Independent Councillor of the Tytherington ward has this to say, looking back on this year's success, and ahead towards 2022.

"Dear Wonderful Residents of Macclesfield," he said.

"I would like to wish you all a very Happy Christmas!

"Thank you for all the love and support that you have shown me.

"It's been an incredible experience being your Mayor over the last seven months and I'm really looking forward to the next five!"

David, who previously served as Deputy Mayor at the start of the pandemic, is also a Cheshire East Councillor, and chair of the borough's Licensing Committee.

He champions new businesses in Macc, and regularly works towards to get electric vehicle charging points in our town. You can learn more about him here.

David is married to Natalia Belinskaya, the Mayoress was the first Eastern European official for our town, and became a British citizen earlier in the year.

They have two teenage sons together, and live in Tytherington.
