A Macclesfield school has urged parents to be 'vigilant' after 'middle aged man' approaches pupil

By James Kelly 25th May 2020

Tytherington School has emailed parents to warn them and pupils to be vigilant following an incident in which a "young, female" student was approached by a "middle aged man driving a black car".

The incident is reported to have happened at 5pm on Friday (22 May) on Park Lane Road in Macclesfield.

The school told parents: "Thankfully the young girl managed to get away safely but is unsurprisingly somewhat shaken. The incident has been reported to the police, however, we would ask that you remain vigilant."

Emmanuel Botwe, the schools headteacher, said: "I'd just urge young people to be careful and keep their wits about them. If they spot anything like this, they alert their parents, the police and the ourselves at the school."

The email thanked the student and her parents for making the school aware and warning other parents.

Macclesfield Nub News has contacted the police for an update and this article will be updated when it is received.
