Almost £6000 fundraised for Macclesfield's Silklife Foodbank
For the second year running, Marton Meadows Golf Club and AstraZeneca have swung into action to raise much-needed funds for the Silklife Foodbank.
£5,663 was raised for the foodbank through a Charity Challenge golf event and raffle. The total includes matched funding by AstraZeneca and gift aid.
The stars of the show this year Leigh Turner and the Shilling Horse Team who won the Golf Event.
The Silklife Foodbank, Macclesfield exists to provide emergency food parcels for people facing a hunger crisis situation in Macclesfield and Bollington.
Dan Blackman, Team Lead Co-Ordinator at the food bank said "Returning to Marton Meadows Golf Club for a second year with our charity partner AstraZeneca was so exciting for Silklife Foodbank. Having been so successful in 2023, we knew that this event was going to be an amazing day full of fun and energy, and above all, a day of purpose in raising crucial funds to help those facing challenges times in our local community."
