ATS Euromaster shuts 'non-profitable' service centre in Macclesfield

A tyres and service centre has shut for good.
ATS Euromaster on Hurdsfield Road has closed.
It is understood to be part of the Michelin-owned company's wider review of its operating model.

In February, Fleet News reported that ATS Euromaster was planning to close 86 service centres.
This comes amid 'increasing costs, sluggish growth and over capacity'.
The Macclesfield branch has been shut since Saturday, May 1.
Signs have been put up with a QR code to find your nearest centre.
With the Congleton site having also been closed, the closest centre is now in Buxton.

A statement provided to Fleet News reads: "In a UK automotive aftermarket context of overcapacity, increasing costs and sluggish activity and growth, ATS Euromaster intends to review its current operating model and has put in place a proposal to close non-profitable service centres.
"Employees impacted by this proposal are under consultation. In the meantime, our priority is to provide them with the best level of support as possible."
ATS Euromaster has been contacted for further information about the closure of the Macclesfield branch.
