A new burger bar is set to open in Macclesfield.

Fred's Café on Moss Lane estate enters a new era on Monday, February 10, when it launches a takeaway burger menu.

Owner, Russell Beaver, is hopeful this could be the start of an exciting journey, with plans to expand the brand across the county.

The 42-year-old said: "I am extremely excited and also very nervous.

"I've put a lot of time and money and research into this, I just hope it pays off.

"My dream is to have more Fred's popping up around Cheshire in the future."

Russell has been working at the café ever since his parents purchased it in 2010.

Sadly, his father passed away six years ago, with Russell taking the reins.

Since then, he has worked hard to grow the business, offering a larger menu and deliveries.

Russell had been looking at opening a second café in the Congleton area but instead decided there was an opening for a takeaway on the Moss Rose estate.

The café will continue to open as normal, closing at 2pm.

Then at 4pm Fred's Burger Bar will open for takeaway and delivery only, although Russell hasn't ruled out a dine-in option in the future.

He is also still looking to hire more staff for the burger bar, from front of house to working behind the grill.

Meanwhile, Russell has tried to keep the menu as affordable as possible, with meal deals available for just £6.

He said: "I've had to do a lot of shopping around with lots of different suppliers to keep the costs down.

"I have a golden rule of always try everything you are selling, I never go for the cheapest option just to make the most profit.

"Hopefully people will find us very affordable, we have had a good response so far."
