A new gym is up and running in Macclesfield.

Everybody Health and Leisure has opened its new fitness and health hub in the town centre.

Located next to the Travelodge, opposite the station, the site offers a range of equipment, classes and lifestyle services.

Thomas Barton, CEO of Everybody Health and Leisure, said: "I am so happy to be able to announce that we are opening this new site in Macclesfield.

"This central location will allow us to extend our services, including the funded One You Health referral programmes, to people in Macclesfield in a way that will work for them.

"As someone who grew up in Macclesfield it gives me great pleasure to be at the forefront of this investment in the town.

"This new site complements our other local joint investments with Cheshire East Council in Macclesfield.

"These include our recently refurbished Macclesfield Leisure Centre gym and us extending our Taste for Life services by taking on the running of the café in West Park - keeping these community assets open, and in top condition for Macclesfield residents and visitors."

The new site is made up of two distinct sides – a fitness centre and a health hub.

The fitness centre, which opened on Monday, February 3, has a boutique gym which members can book slots to use.

It features a range of cardio equipment, weights, sled push and pull, and changing and shower facilities.

Members can also sign up for classes and book PT sessions.

Meanwhile, the health hub will serve as a delivery centre for One You Cheshire East services including Stand Strong Falls Prevention Programme, Actives Lives physical activity sessions, and Stop Smoking consultations.
