A café in Macclesfield has been put up for sale.

The owners of Nomas on Chestergate have announced plans to call it a day.

They are now searching for a safe pair of hands to take over the business.

Co-owners, Fey and Adonis Norouznia, said: "The business is now officially for sale. This isn't just an empty unit or an idea for a restaurant. It's an established Macclesfield business with nearly six years of history behind it, an existing customer base, equipment and a name that people locally already know.

"For the right person — perhaps a chef who has always wanted their own place, a couple wanting to run something together, or someone already in hospitality looking for their next business — we'd love to see Nomas continue.

"We're not expecting anyone to keep everything exactly as it is either. A new owner could take what we've built and make it completely their own.

"Most of all, we'd hate for Nomas to simply close its doors one day without giving somebody the opportunity to carry it forward. Macclesfield has supported us for nearly six years, and whatever happens next, we'll always be grateful for that.

Nomas opened in 2021, starting out as a vegan eatery called Ethos Concept Store.

In 2024, they made the decision to expand their menu and began offering meat options.

The shopfront was recently refurbished, with the business now focusing on 'coffee and brunch'

Reflecting on the journey, Adonis said: "We've made mistakes, changed, learned, survived some incredibly difficult years for hospitality and met thousands of people along the way.

"But our family's circumstances have now changed and we've moved away from the UK.

"We've tried to keep Nomas going from a distance, but with the loss of several members of our team, we've had to dramatically reduce the operation.

"At the moment, Nomas is only open to customers at weekends, with a reduced takeaway operation outside of that.

"And it isn't the Nomas we spent nearly six years building. So rather than slowly watching it disappear, we would really love to find someone who wants to take it over and give it its next chapter."

Nomas is currently listed for sale on Rightmove, with Adonis stating that they are looking for £69,000 and are ready to speak to serious buyers.

"Established by the current owners in April 2021, Nomas has been transformed into one of Macclesfield's most distinctive independent hospitality venues and is now reluctantly being offered for sale," reads the Rightmove listing.

"During their ownership, they have invested in excess of £80,000 into the premises, including over £20,000 on a complete rewiring and cabling upgrade, creating a stylish, modern business that is ready for a new owner to take over and continue trading immediately."

Nomas features two customer seating areas, as well as additional outdoor seating on Chestergate.

It also boasts hand-painted murals, exposed ceilings, feature lighting and quality furnishings.

The commercial kitchen, meanwhile, comes fully-equipped with an 'extensive' range of quality catering equipment, fixtures and fittings, all of which are included within the sale price.

The listing continues: "Whilst already enjoying successful daytime trade and an established evening offering several nights a week, there remains genuine scope to increase turnover further by expanding evening service, private functions, outside catering and the existing delivery platforms.
