A Macclesfield resident has recently opened a new reflexology business.

Located on Church Street, Calm Restore Renew provides a number of holistic services aimed at restoring the body back to its natural balance.

Macclesfield Nub News met with Cathy Ross, who is behind the new business to find out more.

"The principle therapy I offer is reflexology, which can be done on the hands or feet," Cathy said.

"More recently I've added Indian Head Massage."

Reflexology is a non-invasive holistic treatment that uses a combination of techniques to help induce a sense of calm and deep relaxation.

Indian head massages are considered to be a method of cleansing and healing, this is an ancient holistic treatment that focuses on acupressure points on the head, neck and shoulders, aiming to rebalance the energies within the body.

"Both are calming therapies that help to rebalance the body, release stress, anxiety, any imbalances that may be occurring through being generally unwell," Cathy explained.

"I've been a nurse for over 43 years and most of my background has been in trauma and intensive care."

"Calm Restore Renew is all about blending holistic treatments with my extensive nursing knowledge and understanding how stress and illness can affect individuals."

"The nice thing about the two separate therapies is that you can combine elements of the Indian Head Massage with the Hand and Foot Reflexology. You can mix and match.

"I also offer a home service for those who can't get out and about."

These include an hour reflexology session for £45, or an hour and 40 minute for a full head to toe experience for £70.

Currently, there is an offer giving 10% off all treatments taken by 29 February 2024. (Please note: This is one offer per customer, and excludes gift card purchases).

Cathy speaks of many benefits that clients receive as a result of her holistic therapies.

"It's quiet, there are no phones ringing, it's a time for those who come to really just stop," she said.

"It allows them to just think about what may be bothering them. They can share whatever they like with me in confidence.

"I can perhaps help them understand what's going on, help to realign any imbalances so they leave, calm, restored, and renewed, hence the name.

"If you're calmer, more considered, you have a completely different approach: to yourself, to your family and to your general wellbeing."
