Chance to celebrate those who have made a difference to the Macclesfield community

Now is your chance to recognise someone who has contributed to the Macclesfield community.
The Mayor of Macclesfield, councillor Sandy Livingstone, has launched this year's Civic Awards.
These awards recognise people who have given their time to make a difference to a community group or the town as a whole.
Councillor Livingstone said: "Macclesfield is a town with a strong community and a sense of its own identity.
"There are people young or old all across our town that contribute and enrich our community, either in charities, sports clubs, community groups, school, a local business, an individual, or an ambassador.
"If you know someone like that then I would like you to nominate them for a Mayor's Civic Award.
"The nominations are open now and the awards will be presented on May 11 at what I hope will be a celebration of our town."

Previous winners include Carl Lamptey for his fundraising for East Cheshire Hospice, Matt Rigby for his contributions to sport and leisure, Russ Hope from ELOV for independent business, Andy's Man Club for community involvement and Scoop & Scales for the environment.
Nominations for this year's awards must be submitted by Friday, April 4.
The award categories are:
- Community Involvement
- Young Persons Achievement
- Sporting and Leisure
- Art and Culture
- Environment
- Independent Business
- Ambassador of Macclesfield
- Pride of Macclesfield
- Lifetime Achievement
