More support is now available for Maxonians who have fallen victim to loan sharks.

Cheshire East Council has teamed up with Stop Loan Sharks, the government's illegal money lending team.

As part of this partnership, Macclesfield Town Hall reception now serves as an official Stop Loan Sharks access point.

A spokesperson for the council said: "Do you owe money to a loan shark? Do you want to get help, but haven't got a phone, computer or a safe space to do it?

"We can help.

"Our staff can help you take the first step in regaining control of your money and get you the help you need.

"Call in today, and we'll help you make the call."
