Cheshire East Council's director of finance to leave after five years in role

Cheshire East Council's Director of Finance & Customer Service is leaving the role.

Alex Thompson, who had worked for Cheshire East Council since it was formed, and the aforementioned job title for the past five years, is to exit in May.

He will have reached his 15th anniversary with the Council in April, then leave a month later.

Mr Thompson will go to work for Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council near Birmingham.

Cheshire East Council's media team, and Mr Thompson himself, were contacted for comment by Macclesfield Nub News on Friday February 24.

In recent months the Council has had to appoint a new Chief Executive, and a will have to select a new Deputy Leader with their current number two stepping down this month.
