A venue on Chestergate's east side has donated hundreds of pounds to a Macclesfield charity.

Leek Building Society in Macclesfield have just fundraised almost £300 for one of their chosen charities, East Cheshire Hospice.

Macclesfield Branch Manager, Ronnie McNeil, said: "I've visited the Hospice in a professional and personal capacity and have seen the depth of care and support they provide to patients and their families.

"At Leek Building Society, it's important to us to support our local communities. That's why we're pleased that the funds raised will help the Hospice to continue their fantastic work that makes such a difference to those placed locally."

The palliative care charity, on Millbank Drive, has been going since 1988.

Luke Oldham, Corporate Fundraiser at East Cheshire Hospice, Macclesfield, said: "East Cheshire Hospice has always had a close relationship with Leek Building Society [LBS]."

"LBS has always had a strong connection to its surrounding community, that is clear as soon as you meet the team. And it is this value, shared with the Hospice, that makes them such wonderful partners.

"This donation is just a small part of what the team at LBS have done for the Hospice over the years. We are truly grateful for everything they do, and we are so fortunate to have their support.
