A local brewer is to expand, with a premises relocation and more employment opportunities created.

Bollington Brewing Company, in Bollington, are moving to south Macclesfield.

They have found a new home at Brook Mill on Parker Street, Macclesfield.

Despite the move, their identity shall remain the same, as well as their high standards of CAMRA-approved beer.

The 16-year-old business told supporters: "When we started Bollington Brewing Co back in 2008, we never imagined the journey that lay ahead. The Vale and Brewery family has grown over time, with the addition of four more fantastic pubs and bars."

"This expansion has brought with it the need for more space, and also a desire to find a secure home for our future. After 16 wonderful years at Adlington Road, and after an extensive search, we're delighted to announce that we've found just that at Brook Mill in Macclesfield.

"Over the next three months, we'll be moving our production to the Mill, which not only offers us the extra space we need, but it's a fantastic building that we can't wait to share with you.

"We'd love to add a tap room where we can host events and our popular brewery tours – the perfect spot to share our passion for great beer with all of you!

"Rest assured, our brewery address may be changing, but the heart of our business will always belong to Bollington. It's where we got our start, where our roots run deep, and where our beloved brand was born.

"So, Bollington Brewing Co. stays as it is – a nod to our heritage and a thank you to the community that has supported us every step of the way."

The Brewery itself employs two full-time and three part-time staff.

Lee Wainwright, Managing Director of Bollington Brewing Company, confirmed that this number will rise with the move to Macclesfield.

"We anticipate 1 more full time [hire] in the brewery," he said.

"And then if we open a taproom then probably 2 full time and 6 part time."

These figures do not include the pubs the brewery runs at sites like The Vale in Bollington and the Park Tavern in Macclesfield.

They are not the first brewery to move from Bollington, but keep their name connecting them to Bolly. Happy Valley Brewery previously moved from Bollington to Oxford Road in Macclesfield.
