A Christmas Card pop-up which raises funds for a multitude of charities is back for another year.

The new shop upstairs in Macclesfield Library is raising funds for over 50 charities, just by selling Christmas cards.

It is part of an initiative that has historically raised £6 million for good causes since 1971.

The Christmas Card Shop is open during regular library hours, except evenings, barring Tuesday where they will be open late.

These cards will benefit the British Heart Foundation.

Macclesfield charities you can benefit through buying a festive greetings card includes East Cheshire Hospice and East Cheshire Eye Society.

There's also cards from Sutton's The Rossendale Trust and The Christie who have a site in Macclesfield.

The temporary seasonal shop, found near the new Barclays Banking hub in Macclesfield Library said: "Unlike other organisations who sell Christmas cards on behalf of charities, we do not charge them to participate.

"We do not take a percentage of their sales.

The long list of charities that will benefit.

"So 100% of card sales go to our charities.

"None of us are paid. We are all volunteers.

"We look forward to welcoming you."

They will cease selling in Macclesfield Library, Jordangate on December 9.

They also sell plenty of stocking fillers.
