Police name suspect accused of breaking into cars across Macclesfield

Police have named a man accused of breaking into cars across Macclesfield.
Lewis Anderton appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on Tuesday, August 25, following an investigation into reports of car interference.
In total, the 38-year-old was charged with nine counts of motor vehicle interference by Macclesfield North Neighbourhood Policing Team.
The charges relate to multiple reports of vehicle break-ins in Macclesfield between May and August 2026 in the following areas:
- Hardwick Drive
- Park Lane
- Sherwood Road
- Byrons Lane
- Treacle Avenue
- Livesley Road (x4)
Anderton, of Goathland Way in Macclesfield, will next appear at Crewe Magistrates Court on Tuesday, July 6, 2027.
