While the dog adoption boom of 2020 is becoming a distant memory, there are still plenty of adorable pooches waiting for a home in Macclesfield.

RSPCA Macclesfield are currently seeking for homes to adopt three adult dogs.

Here's a little information about every one of them. Even if you're not thinking of adopting a dog in Macclesfield, please consider sharing this article with someone who might!

Every dog deserves a loving owner.

Misty

The first dog we're introducing to our readers is the one that has been the longest at RSPCA Macclesfield. The Staffy currently has a foster dog parent in Bramhall, but deserves to have a fur-ever home for the first time in their six years of life. Misty had spent a couple of months at Chesterfield RSPCA centre but wasn't coping with being in kennels so she was networked into a lovely foster in the Stockport suburb. Misty, which you can see having a ball of a time in the YouTube video at the top of this article, is a super energetic Staffordshire Bull Terrier, who would love to explore the Macclesfield countryside. Misty came in via Inspectors from a home where she was neglected, along with other animals and the owner couldn't manage the numbers. But is hoping for a family in Macclesfield that can afford to be with her. Misty had very sore patches, fur loss and sore ears so she was on treatment and now all is resolved. Staffies can be prone to flea and mite allergies, and it took her a month of loving from RSPCA Macclesfield to get rid of them. She has been vaccinated and had puppies in the past, and won't be seeking to breed again as she will be neutered this month. RSPCA Macclesfield said: "Misty is looking for an adult only home, as she's had very limited experience with children. She's lovely, but can be quite nervous/anxious of meeting new people at first and when in unfamiliar situations. "Misty has lived with cats and another dog and we feel she could do so again if they are friendly and sociable. But she will need to meet her new adopters a couple of times before adoption. "She's a great dog; affectionate and friendly after a timid welcome; she absolutely loves to play and she is really good with other dogs. She is on the boisterous side in that she needs to learn that not everyone likes to be jumped at with affection – bless her, she is very enthusiastic and she just loves life." If you're interested in adopting Misty, please contact Macc's Rehoming Co-ordinator on [email protected] or 07846 539500. Bentley

It is not every day you get to own a Bentley!

But this dashing doggy could be yours by the end of this month.

The two-year-old American bulldog is after a human companion, after a ruff life on the streets.

The ex-stray would like to be the only pet in a household, and with adults only.

He's fine to be left alone for periods of time, but enjoys regular walks.

RSPCA Macclesfield saved him from a certain death.

They said: "This super-looking boy is Bentley."

"Bentley was taken to a pound where, sadly, euthanasia is a serious risk. A wonderful voluntary organisation that works hard at finding rescue spaces for dogs from these pounds contacted our branch for help. Bentley was the last dog left on the long list who needed out – how could we say no?

"Bentley loves his food and teats. He's a friendly boy, a bit unsure when he first arrived and a little nervous, but is starting to feel more comfortable day by day.

The Macclesfield mutt has been neutered and vaccinated and also microchipped.

"So, he's now ready to find a new loving home with someone kind and patient to help him while he adjusts to a new life because we have no idea what this young lad has been through. He's a lovely dog indeed!"

If you're interested in Bentley, please fill in this register of interest application form.

Milo

The most recent arrival at RSPCA Macclesfield, having been rescued just before Christmas, crossbreed Milo wants to move into an adult-only home in Macclesfield. The three-year-old male is already vaccinated, and will be neutered by the time you adopt him. This dog is recommended for experienced owners, and has so much love to give. He's sadly lived with criminals in the past, and now just wants a stable and happy life. RSPCA Macclesfield described the ex-pupper as follows: "Milo is such a handsome fellow! He's a young dog signed over from a property where he was living with people with drug abuse issues; sadly he was not being cared for. "They had only had him for 2-3 months after 'rescuing' him from people who didn't care for him properly either. We've had him vaccinated and he is due to be neutered. "Milo is a lovely lad, but does have a bit of an anxious side and can sometimes get worried in unfamiliar situations. He will need a quiet home with ideally experienced owners to help him settle in new surroundings and build his confidence. "Milo originally went to the Animal Hospital, then private boarding (apparently someone claiming to be Milo's owner had been in touch but then disappeared so we had to hold Milo while this was investigated before he went to a branch for rehoming) then into our kennels. "Are you that caring and understanding person or couple who can help him with a new start in life?" You can apply to rehome shy but sweet Milo here. You can follow RSPCA Macclesfield on Facebook.
