Macclesfield coppers have charged four individuals as part of an ongoing investigation into county lines drug dealing.
Each of the foursome are all men, and have been charged with two counts of conspiracy to supply class A drugs.
They were suspected to supply heroin and crack cocaine on Macclesfield streets during the first lockdown.
The charges relate to incidents which occurred between November 2019 and June 2020.
Remarkably, none of the charged defendants are from Macc, in what police are describing as a "county lines" crime.
The four defendants are:
Joel Clarke, age 32, of Thorburn Road, Wigan
Aaron Coady, age 28, of Calver Close, FlixtonAlan Fearnley, age 30, of Park Road North, Urmston
Thomas Tynan, age 27, of Woodsend Road, Flixton It takes up to 35 miles from these locations to travel to Macclesfield, making a 70-mile round trip. All four men are set to appear at Stockport Magistrates' Court on Thursday 16 September, in connection to the Macclesfield offences. There was just one drug crime recorded in Macclesfield in July 2021. There were 36 drug crimes recorded in Central Macclesfield in the last 12 months, making it the eigth most common crime in the area. However, it is unknown if the four males charged operated in Central Macclesfield alone, or other policing wards. Macclesfield Nub News have contacted Cheshire Police for further comment.
