A couple are set to achieve their dream as they open a café together.

Fox and Howl will soon be opening its doors on Brock Street, taking over the unit recently vacated by Cornershop Coffee.

Behind the counter you will find Charlies Jones and her partner Nick 'Ren' Lucas.

"It has always been a dream of mine to run my own little speciality coffee shop and bakery, and Ren being the wonderful partner he is, wanted to make that dream come true for me," said 26-year-old Charlie.

"We both love living in Macclesfield and love the sense of community, so we wanted to stay local to Macc and contribute to the community and become more of a part of it."

Originally from Surrey, Charlie moved up north seven years ago and now lives with Ren in Macclesfield.

Her 12 years of experience as a barista is complimented by her partner's business expertise, with Ren running his own independent game studio.

Fox and Howl will be focusing on speciality coffee, as well as offering some seasonal specials.

When it comes to food, their signature will be a variety of sweet and savoury loaded croissants, alongside a range of other cakes and pastries.

It's not all about the food and drinks though, with Charlie and Ren keen to cement themselves as a part of the local community.

Charlie said: "We want to be that cafe that everyone feels incredibly welcome in. We are extremely inclusive and really we want to create a space that feels a little bit like a home away from your home!

"Rainy day? Fox and Howl hot chocolate in the window with a blanket sounds great! Really hot summer day? Fox and Howl iced drinks surrounded by plants would be lovely!

"I'm really aiming to create a cosy space that doesn't feel too minimalistic and industrial."

Charlie and Ren are hoping to have Fox and Howl up and running by August, although they've not set an exact opening date just yet.

"We are so incredibly excited for this!" Charlie added.

"It'll be our first time running a cafe, and we honestly just can't wait to have our regulars and meet new people and provide great products; I love making people happy, and I absolutely love a good yap session!

"Every day we turn to each other randomly and go 'we're going to open a cafe!' very excitedly to each other, we're all smiles and laughter about it."
