Electric car chargers proposed in south west Macclesfield
Thornton Square could get new electric car charging stations, should plans get the go-ahead.
A planning application by electric vehicle charger company InstaVolt suggests they want to install two the car park.
The pair of 120KW DC chargers aim to be in the place of two parking spaces at the Thornton Square site.

2023 is shaping up to be a big year for electric cars in Macclesfield.
New government-funded facilities are opening at the Cheshire East Council owned Brook Street, Churchill Way and Whalley Hayes Car Parks. This will fill the gap of public-accessible points.
Elsewhere in the private sector, there is also a bp pulse site opening in the new Barracks Mill Retail Park.
Sales of new petrol and diesel cars will be banned in the UK from 2030.
Recent figures from UK-wide EV website ZapMap estimates "there are now over 620,000 battery-electric cars on our nation's roads, plus a further 440,000 plug-in hybrids."
