Macclesfield Nub News readers state that Macclesfield has too many coffee shops.

One commenter even christened Treacletown with another nickname, 'Mochasfield', in reference to the high number of coffee shops.

While this is not a view held by this writer, or many in Macclesfield, it has helped attract out of town investment, and could very well do with another empty premises in town.

Although this leisure-and-hospitality based shift may be happening in high streets the country, as the traditional retailer wanes with the rise of online shopping, one can't help but wonder how much is too much.

But that hasn't stopped a property firm from marketing a Macclesfield site once occupied by a retailer as a potential new coffee shop.

Both Rightmove and Janhill Estates have described a vacant unit on Sunderland Street as a potential retail unit and coffee shop.

The empty shop, of Sunderland House, is found inbetween The Engine Rooms and Citizens Advice Macclesfield.

Once housed by Crown Bedrooms Macclesfield, the space is also being marketed as a potential medical or therapy room, which makes sense given its proximity to both yoga studios, medical centres and osteopaths.

The vacated premises comprises 1600 square feet. It is on the leasing market for £1,750 pcm, or £21,000 per annum.
