And once a week, we highlight a great event in greater detail. And today, we have a 1980s themed music festival coming to Macclesfield in a matter of days.

Rewind North will be held at Macclesfield 18th century country house Capesthorne Hall.

Over 22 acts from yesteryear will come to Macc, for the weekend event which lasts from August 6 to August 8.

Macclesfield music geeks will notice local legends Peter Hook and the Light on the bill, who is connected to our town's rich cultural heritage.

Peter Hook, formerly of the bands Joy Division and New Order, contained two members from Macclesfield in his tenure with the acts, and will be a certain highlight. It'll be one of his two Macclesfield performances this year.

Other famous 1980s performers include Marc Almond of Soft Cell and Tainted Love fame, along with The Trevor Horn band, a supergroup comprising of Lol Creme of 10cc and Trevor Horn of The Buggles.

The festival will be opened by a unique tribute show Queen Symphonic. Their set will celebrate over 50 years since the formation of Queen, one of the world's greatest rock bands.

It features a full symphony orchestra, a fantastic rock band and four soloist's from the international productions of the musical We Will Rock You performing some of Queen's greatest hits including We Will Rock You and Bohemian Rhapsody.

Saturday night will close with Jimmy Somerville's Big Band-Tastic Boogie, a hit packed show with a massive big band with brass, strings and special effects including the world's biggest party popper.

They will release their ninth studio album this year, with some material expected to be previewed at the Macclesfield festival, along with their biggest hits.

After their set, Sunday night will conclude with a firework display.

Day Tickets and camping tickets are still available online.

They start from £20 for 10-17 year olds, and £65 for adults.
