Every one of the nine confirmed Jubilee parties across Macclesfield
The Queen's Platinum Jubilee will be celebrated in style across the Macclesfield area.
Macclesfield Town Council is supporting 8 community groups across the town to host a Jubilee party for the local community.
With the Platinum Jubilee fast approaching, and the promise of a four day weekend, Macclesfield Town Council have been working with 8 local community groups, one in each ward of the town, to plan a fantastic Jubilee celebration.
Work started late last year when Macclesfield Town Council approached Macclesfield charity Cre8 on the Moss estate, Core on the Upton Priory estate, Tytherington Family Worship Church, Calvary Church on the West, St Pauls on Glegg Street in the East Ward, Green on the Corner in Hurdsfield, St Michaels and Christ Church in the town centre to see if they would like to host a free party for local people.
Macclesfield Town Council has given a grant of £1000 to all the groups to enable them to buy garden games, pay for face painters and bouncy castles, bring in entertainers and to ensure that things are free for people to enjoy.
Some of the parties will be encouraging people to bring their own picnics, whilst others will be offering free cream teas to the first 200 people for example. The Town Council have also helped organisers complete the various elements of paperwork required by Cheshire East Council in respect of permissions and road closures.
Parties are being held on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th June and are FREE to attend.
