By Matthew Hancock-Bruce 13th Mar 2026
The streets of Silk Town will spring into life with the return of a popular annual event next month.
Macclesfield Town Council have shared details of this year's Easter Egg-stravaganza, which takes place on Saturday, April 4.
From 11am to 3pm, the town centre will play host to a variety of activities suitable for all ages.
Rachael Higham, events officer at Macclesfield Town Council, said "We want to help people make the most of the long Easter weekend.
"Traditionally we have always had a sunny day and fingers are crossed for this year too!
"We have brought back some old favourites such as the Face Painting Queen and new things like Phileas and his walkabout act, but there will be plenty to do and see – and don't forget, it is all free to take part in!"

Macclesfield Community ArtSpace will be holding Easter themed craft workshops while children will be able to get their face painted by the Face Painting Queen.
There will also be performances and the chance to play with hoola hoops from LetsCircus, as well as Phileas Fogg in his hot air balloon will be there too.
That's not all as you can pick up an Easter bunny trail map, which will lead you on a walk around the town, spotting smartly dressed bunnies with their handsome blue bows hiding on the shelves or in the windows of local shops. Don't forget to pick up your prize from the Market Place on your return!
As well as the free activities, Macclesfield Town Council are offering free to ride bus travel on D&G routes 10, 19 and 19A and High Peak routes 14 and 14A.
