A Macclesfield care home looks set to shut down.

It is understood that Riseley House Care Home will close for good later this month.

Emma Morris is now in the difficult situation of having to find alternative accommodation for her mother, who requires full time nursing care.

She said: "I want to start by saying that the nursing home and the staff at Riseley House have been really good to my mum.

"They have treated her with care and kindness, and they even allowed her to bring her dog to live with her, which has meant a great deal to her and to us as a family.

"However, the way the closure has been handled has been very difficult."

Initially, Emma was told that the closure wouldn't come into effect for around 12 weeks.

However, she has since been informed that it will actually shut on Fe, she received an update to say that it would actually be closing in just 28 days.

"This sudden change has placed enormous pressure on myself and other families to urgently find alternative accommodation for our relatives," she said.

"I don't feel there has been enough support in helping families find suitable placements.

"I received one email containing a list of four care homes and an indication of how many places they might possibly have, but that was essentially it.

"There has been no further update or ongoing communication."

Emma added: "While we are grateful for the care the staff have provided, the lack of clarity, short notice, and limited support around the closure has been extremely stressful for families at an already worrying time."

Riseley House Care Home was contacted but declined to comment.

Cheshire East Council has also been approached for further information.
