Festive finale for Macclesfield Rugby Club's rib-tickling comedy nights
The last monthly comedy nights of the year for Macclesfield Rugby Club will be Christmas themed, as a 'Festive Feast of Funny' will come to Priory Lane.
Stand Up Macclesfield are celebrating Christmas in style with a festive feast of funny this December!
In their Christmas special taking place on Friday December 10 at Macclesfield Rugby Club, sponsored by RedWillow Brewery, a cracker of a comedy night is on offer featuring a full line up of TV and award-winning comedians.
The headliner is the brilliant Alun Cochrane. One of the biggest comedians in UK comedy he has appeared on numerous TV shows including Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow, Russell Howard's Good News and Mock The Week.
Cochrane has also appeared on Dave's One Night Stand, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Have I Got News For You and 8 Out Of 10 Cats.
He was featured as series regular 'Sam' in the Sky Living sitcom Trying Again, alongside Chris Addison and has appeared in Coronation Street, Boomers and Russell Howard's Christmas film A Gert Lush Christmas.
Opening the show is Scott Bennett who is widely regarded as being the next big thing in stand up.
As seen on Live At The Apollo, Scott has also appeared on BBC Radio 4's The News Quiz, The Now Show, The Likely Dads and Elephant in the Room with Sarah Millican.
You may also recognise him from The Summer Festival with Daliso Chaponda, The Comedy Club with Arthur Smith, and Knock Knock with Helen Lederer.
He also featured on the BBC One show, Live from The Edinburgh Fringe.
During the lockdown of 2020, Scott pioneered the viral hit, Stand up from the Shed, a weekly topical live streamed stand up show from his actual garden shed. The show achieved national coverage in the press, Sky News, BBC News and Five Live.
The MC for the night, Barry Dodds, is not only a brilliant comedian but is now also the star of cult hit Parapod The Movie and the Parapod Podcast.
A self-confessed comedy geek after taking to the stage at the tender age of 21, he soon had audiences eating out of the palm of his hand. Using his own combination of irrepressibly cheeky and geeky humour, he quickly found himself taking the national comedy circuit by storm wining multiple awards along the way.
With further support also on the bill and the promise of some Christmas treats and surprises, along with a very festive soundtrack, the show is selling very quickly and booking as soon as possible is very highly recommended!
Tickets are available here, and cost just £16.50 per person.
