Fire crew called to fire on Prestbury Road

By The Editor 8th Apr 2021

Shortly before 9.30pm last night (Wednesday), firefighters received a report of a fire at West Park off Prestbury Road in Macclesfield.

On arrival the crew discovered that it was a small fire under the awning of a museum. They used a hose reel jet to extinguish it before employing a thermal imaging camera to look for hotspots and make sure that the fire was fully out.

Firefighters were in attendance for around half an hour.

The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.

Anyone with any information about the fire should call Cheshire Constabulary on 101 or give the details via their website.
