Footballer who lives near Macclesfield found not guilty of rape

A footballer who lives in a Macclesfield parish has been fount not guilty of rape.

The 28 year old former Manchester City FC star saw his trial conclude in Chester this week, where he was cleared of raping a woman and attempting to rape another.

The Frenchman, who lives on the Prestbury / Mottram St. Andrew border on Withinlee Road, had also been cleared of six counts of rape earlier in the year.

He was cleared by jury.

His contract with the Premier League champions has recently expired.
