Former Macclesfield bank set to be transformed into heist-themed bar
By Matthew Hancock-Bruce 27th Jul 2026
A former bank in Macclesfield is being transformed into a bar.
The old Yorkshire Bank branch on Market Place is set to reopen in the coming weeks as Heist, a themed bar specialising in 'luxury liquors'.
The project is being run by brothers Ethan and Max Beaumont.
Ethan, 29, said: "It's very exciting!
"I've wanted to open my own bar for a long time.
"It's just been about having the money to do it and finding the right place."
Ethan is from the Macclesfield area and has worked in the hospitality industry for around 12 years.
He has worked at various pubs and bars around town, including a stint at The Castle on Church Street.
"With bars like R&Gs, Five Clouds, Diversion and Mash, Macclesfield has a really good nightlife scene," Ethan said.
"Hopefully we can make it even better!"

Heist takes over the space previously occupied by Yorkshire Bank and more recently, PEAK Cyclesport.
It will be a bank heist-themed bar with a 1920s art deco style.
Ethan added: "Originally we wanted to do something focusing on Macclesfield's history with silk and textiles.
"Then we found the property and it's got a big bank vault at the back, so we had to play on that.
"We're definitely going for a premium vibe and we're going to champion good service above anything.
"We want to create somewhere that you can come for a pint or a coffee, but that you'd also come on a date night."
A first teaser trailer for Heist was released on Friday night, July 24.
The video has already been liked hundreds of times.
Ethan said: "It's reached more people than I thought it would!
"It's been quite well received from everyone that I've spoken to..
"I've got another teaser or two to drop in the build-up to the opening."
Heist is currently scheduled to open on Friday, September 4.
