A good cause in Macclesfield will be hosting an event giving out free meals to those who need them.

Amid the cost of living crisis and coldest days of the year, Scoop and Scales will be hosting an evening to help Macclesfield out.

Top chefs from our town will be cooking, whose identities will be kept secret until the event, as the event is about feeding the community rather than publicity.

"We're delighted to offer a free meal to anyone who wants one, on Thursday December 8," said Scoop and Scales Co-Founder Matthew Todd.

"Just turn up any time from 5pm to 8pm. Anyone who wants one can attend.

"We're a co-operative, so we understand the importance of helping each other out.

"Thank you to the Macclesfield cooks who will be giving up their time and resources to help out."

Scoop and Scales recently celebrated their second year anniversary.

As well as a plastic free shop, they try to do their bit for good causes in Macclesfield.
