A prominent Macclesfield town centre building dating back to the 18th century has hit the market.

The former Wesley Chapel on Sunderland Street has appeared for sale on the property website Rightmove this week.

Open to offers in the region of £750,000, the Grade II-listed property is described as "excellent redevelopment opportunity subject to planning".

The listing explains that the two-storey detached building is currently held on two leases.

The ground floor is let to private individuals who run a long-established snooker club on a three-year lease expiring January 31, 2027.

Meanwhile, the officers on the first floor are let to Imperium Law Solicitors Limited, who currently hold the property on a continuation tenancy.

Combined, these tenants pay a rent of £25,500 per annum.

The listing adds that both leases can be brought to an end on six months' notice.
