Macclesfield man walking from Manchester to Ibiza in flip flops for very special cause

A Macclesfield lad is walking from Manchester to Ibiza… in flip flops.
Henry Moores is back to take on another mammoth walking challenge, having raised nearly £170,000 over the past few years.
Supported by Wayne Lineker, Henry is hoping to raise as much money as possible for Bemorefab when he walks 1,200 miles to the Spanish island of Ibiza, all whilst wearing flip flops.
Henry said: "Me, Wayne and our close friends have thought long and hard about the choice of charity as it means so much for us getting it right.
"Bemorefab is a children's cancer charity, their mission is to provide compassionate support to children and families navigating the challenges of cancer.
"They're dedicated to fostering understanding and awareness within schools by educating peers about cancer and its impacts.
"Their programs aim to empower children undergoing treatment by ensuring they receive the educational support they need, allowing them to thrive both academically and emotionally during difficult times.
"Together, they strive to create a community of hope, understanding, and resilience, ensuring that no child or family faces cancer alone."

Bemorefab was launched by Andrew and Stacey Bark after their daughter Florence was diagnosed with leukaemia in May 2022.
They were lucky to receive lots of support from friends, family and the wider community.
However, they knew that others weren't so fortunate and so they decided to start a charity that supports children, families and schools through the challenges of childhood cancer.
Meanwhile, Florence has been inspiring the world with her positive attitude, gaining over 325,000 followers on TikTok.
In October 2024, she was honoured with a Pride of Britain Award in recognition of her courage.

Henry set off on his walk on Saturday, April 5.
The first stretch of the journey will see him walk 32km from Selfridges in Manchester to his hometown of Macclesfield.
The former Macclesfield Academy pupil said: "I can't thank everyone enough for getting behind me again as I take on the mammoth task with the difficulty level turned up a notch."
