A husband-and-wife architecture team are loving life at their new studio.

Hamer Way Architects opened its doors Macclesfield's emerging 'property quarter' over the summer

Rhys and Sophie Way, the married couple behind the firm, couldn't be happier with how things have gone so far.

Sophie said: "Our first few weeks here have been fantastic.

"Being in the new space makes us feel so much more connected to the town and its community.

"We've already had people drop by to say they need an architect, which is exactly what we hoped for.

"The door is always open - whether it's for a bit of advice, a conversation about your home, or to chat through ideas for a project."

Established in 2017 by architects Sophie and Rhys, Hamer Way has grown a reputation for delivering imaginative and highly personal architecture.

The new studio, just around the corner from their previous base in Waters Green House, offers a more public-facing setting and opens up opportunities for connecting with the wider community.

Sophie and Rhys plan to launch a series of 'Meet the Architect' sessions, creative displays, and design workshops, aiming to demystify the architectural process and make it more accessible to homeowners, developers and curious passers-by alike.

"We've always wanted to create a space that feels open, welcoming and part of the town," said Sophie.

"Architecture can seem out of reach for a lot of people – this move is about changing that perception and inviting more conversation around good design."

Rhys added: "We love working on private homes but we also enjoy the challenge of commercial, retrofit and apartment projects.

"This new space gives us room to grow and connect with other people in the property world – it's about building relationships as much as buildings."

Hamer Way's new studio is located at the Kathleen Roylance Building on Waters Green.

It is part of what Sophie describes as Macclesfield's 'property quarter' alongside estate agents such as Bespoke by Northwood.
