Meet the Macclesfield woman who wants to sort your holiday in 2024.
Andrea Stanley - who lives in Tytherington - is an independent travel agent with over 25 years in the industry.
Colubris Travel - which celebrated their two-year anniversary in November - is the name of Andrea's business.
Dreaming of getting away, Macclesfield Nub News met with Andrea to help stave off the January blues, and find out what she has to offer.
"During COVID, I came up with the idea to start my own travel agency", said Andrea.
"Everyone thought I was nuts, but it was anticipating for when we would be able to travel again.
"I have worked in South Africa, Austria, and lived in Malta for years. But moved back to England in 2017.
"I specialise in skiing, scuba and safari holidays. I sell a lot of Mauritius Indian Ocean holidays, doing lots for family holidays, weddings, honeymoons the whole lot.
"I am independent, but affiliated with Hayes Independent Group Travel so I have all their resources and insurance, ATOL and ABTA protection.
"When people book they will get a thank you gift ranging from pens, snoods, travel labels, free fast track and free lounge passes depending on the value of their holiday booked."
Andrea named her business 'Colubris' as it is is the Latin name for a hummingbird, which is a creature that can travel in four directions, indicative of the geographic spread Andrea's holidays cover.
"I do anything from a basic package to tailor-made", added Andrea.
"If something goes wrong, I can be your person on the ground accessing your booking.
"But as well as the bad times we are there for the good, I can do all your airport parking, fasttracks, so you can get there and not have to worry about anything.
"And you can get better prices as well!"
Colubris Travel has a five-star rating on Facebook and Google Reviews.
As well as helping people have a great time on holiday, Andrea also gives back to the Macclesfield community, as her business recently sponsored Macclesfield Hockey Club, and will sponsor Peak Travel Watch for the forthcoming year. Her favourite place to work from - when not at home - is Hannah's Place in Tytherington.
"I often do work with people who don't use the internet," explained Andrea.
"I can do in-person consultations as well.
"I want you to have a holiday where everything is absolutely perfect, and for you to feel 'that was an amazing holiday'.
"In the future, I'd like the business to grow. Not to become a ten-man-band, as I think once you get more people things start to lose that personal touch.
"I'd also like to further push the safari and Indian Ocean holidays, I think people don't realise they are a lot more affordable than they think.
"Holidays outside of Europe are almost better these days, and maybe higher quality, so you might be getting better value for your money.
"For what you could pay for a ten-day resort in Turkey, is probably the same if not slightly more than a ten-day inclusive in Mauritius. And the time difference the same too.
"Finally, thank you to the Macclesfield community for their support."
