Macclesfield illustrator's Xmas cards generates £730 for Just Drop In

A Macclesfield man has donated £730 to an east Macclesfield charity.

For four years, Greenside resident Adam Schofield, who trades as Adam Francis Illustrator, has illustrated and sold Macclesfield themed Christmas cards, donating half of the profit to a Macclesfield charity.

For Christmas 2023, it was the turn of Brook Street youth wellness charity Just Drop In.

Christmas Cards compiling some of Macclesfield's most gorgeous buildings, and a bustling Market Place, were sold online and at the Macclesfield Visitor Information Centre.

Today, Adam went down to Just Drop In to present the money he has fundraised for them.

"The total donated to Just Drop In was £730 (50% of the profit), from selling 330 packs of cards," he said.

"My 2023 Christmas card sales were my best yet, with every card selling, even after a second print run! 

"This was my fourth year of selling Charity Christmas cards and I have previously donated to Cheshire Streetwise.

"In addition to the above donation and card packs total, I also provided Just Drop In with 250 additional packs which they gave to guests as 'table favours', in return for very generous donations, at a an event with the North Cheshire Chamber of Commerce.

"I was delighted to support Just Drop In as my Christmas card 2023 charity, they do amazing work for children and young people through their counselling and well-being services."

Ann Wright, Chief Officer at Just Drop In was delighted with the donation.

"We are so grateful to Adam for his wonderful Christmas Card designs and for the money raised to support local children who are finding life hard," she said.

"We really do need our community as much as our community needs us, and we are so thankful to everyone who purchased a pack of cards. The total raised will fund a course of counselling for six children, which is a truly wonderful Christmas Gift to a child struggling with their mental health, thank you."
