Meet the family behind the new coffee shop that has opened in a Macclesfield village.

Hannah's Place has opened up this autumn on Springwood Way in Tytherington.

Siblings Lesley and Danielle Evans run the neighbourhood coffee shop.

Macclesfield Nub News met with the pair to find out about their new café.

"We are extremely grateful," said Lesley,

"Everyone has been so lovely and welcoming, saying that they wanted something like this for a long time."

They are located where the old Subway used to be at Tytherington Business Park.

So far, Hannah's Place has been ideal for both residents and those who work at Tytherington's Business Village.

They also do lunch-to-order and can cater for office lunches. Give them a ring on 07990 822043. (Image - Macclesfield Nub News)

"The first week surpassed our expectations. It was a baptism of fire", said Danielle.

"We knew it was going to be busy from the Business Park, we knew we would get a bit of residential, but the amount of support that we have had has been incredible.

"There wasn't a lot of people walking past when we were doing it up, so we pretty much underestimated everything. We got family and friends to come and fill in shifts as we didn't have enough staff.

"We are just so grateful for everyone that has come in."

When asked why now was the time to open, Danielle had this to say: "It was this place to be honest."

"Lesley's partner moved his business from Alderley Park to the end of Tytherington Business Park, so we had drove past the unit and have always said over a glass of wine that this unit would make a lovely café.

"We walked in and it just felt right."

They hope to introduce events in the near future, to make Hannah's Place feel even more like a community hub.

"Hannah was my daughter. We lost her in 2012. And this place is a celebration of her," said Danielle.

"She was 14, she was a daft, funny, lovely girl who welcomed everyone and included people in everything.

"She loved cakes, so we wanted to create a place that had that ethos of being welcoming for everyone to come in, and smile and laugh while they are in here.

They also sell fresh smoothies and milkshakes. (Image - Macclesfield Nub News)

"Lesley, my business partner is my sister. It is the first time we've worked for ourselves.

"Before this, I worked for a leasing company. I had done a bit of hospitality, but not lots.

"Whereas Leslie was manager at Hickory's in Poynton, and has ran pubs, so she has a lot more hospitality experience than me."

They use Wilmslow-roasted coffee beans, as Wilmslow is where Danielle lives.

"I live in Wilmslow and Lesley lives in Hazel Grove, but we both want to move to Tytherington now," revealed Danielle.

"The residents have told us that since COVID, they haven't seen each other as much, but now that they have somewhere on their doorstep to meet, they keep bumping in to each other here.

"We're dog friendly too, we love them coming in, they get a little sausage as well.

"From the kids that come in after school to the businesses that order platters from us, we can't thank them enough."

Other menu items incldue cold sandwiches and jacket potatoes. They even sell ice cream. (Image - Macclesfield Nub News)

The place has a warm vibe, and good humour about it. Probably due to it being such a family affair.

Lesley and Danielle's dad is a joiner so helped renovate, as did Danielle's son. Their elder sister designed the Hannah's Place logo, whereas Lesley's partner made the tables. Family and friends also helped with cash to get the business going.

"What is great is we have a laugh with everyone, everyday," added Lesley.

"We have an amazing team. [Eight people work at Hannah's Place.] Thank you to the community for their support so far."

The community coffee shop raises funds for CAFTcharity in Altrincham, who offer holidays to underprivileged, poorly children.

Hannah's Place is located at Unit 1, Laurel House, Tytherington Business Park, Springwood Way, Tytherington, Macclesfield SK10 2XA.
