Indoor market's £1.9 million refurbishment nears completion

Macclesfield Market Hall is open for business.
The £1.9 million refurbishment of the town's indoor market is all but complete, with traders having started to move into their new permanent homes.
Inside you will find plenty of familiar faces, including AfghanPure, 2C9, Stacey's Deli, Mary Joy, Takamine Guitars and Angie's Den.
But there are still units available and budding entrepreneurs are encouraged to act fast and sign up at what looks to be an exciting time for the market.
Councillor Michael Gorman, chair of Cheshire East Council's economy and growth committee, said: "Macclesfield Market Hall will become a central hub for the town's thriving independent sector, and there's no better time to be getting on board than at the start of the journey.
"The refurbishment works are very nearly complete, and our teams are ready to talk to entrepreneurial businesses who want to be a part of what we are creating in Macclesfield.
"So, my message today to all retailers, especially if you're a food retailer, is to get in touch with us to find out how you can get involved. Get the ball rolling by emailing: [email protected]."

The refurbishment of the indoor market got underway at the end of 2024.
Funded through the government's UK Shared Prosperity Fund, the works set out to 're-energise' the market with a number of 'high impact' visual improvements.
As part of the project, the indoor market has been given a new name - Macclesfield Market Hall.
The market is open from 9am to 5pm six days a week, closed on Sundays.
