You can get involved in one of the biggest events in Macclesfield this summer.

The 1261 Festival returns in August as a celebration of Macclesfield, summer and the local community.

Macclesfield Community Art Space have been commissioned to organise a parade for the event and are now looking for local groups, companies and individuals to take part.

A spokesperson said: "This year's parade takes place on August 23 and its theme is holidays.

"You can get as creative as you like but main thing is being part of this amazing event celebrating Macclesfield, its history and its community."

Individuals can join MCAS's team of volunteers and help prepare floats, banners and other props.

Alternatively, you can create your own costume and props, with MCAS happy to provide support, space and materials.

Groups traditionally choose their own theme (related to holidays) and get as creative as they want, buildinf floats, banners and costumes.

MCAS can provide free workshops either at your premises or at ArtSpace.

Meanwhile, companies are invited to join in the parade, which offers an opportunity to increase your visibility in a fun and memorable setting.
