A concert will raise funds for one of Macclesfield's best-loved causes later this month.

Wychcraft Big Band, based in Allostock near Goostrey, will give a big band performance at the Broken Cross Club in Macclesfield.

The £10 gig will raise money for East Cheshire Hospice, who provide support for those affected with life-limiting illnesses at their care centre on Millbank Drive.

The fundraiser was an annual one until COVID, and is back in full swing.

And there will be plenty of swing on the night, with Frank Sinatra and Glenn Miller being amongst the artists on the setlist.

The Macclesfield-based performers include Macclesfield retired teacher Janet Watson and business owner Mary Kirkpatrick.

You can contact them both regarding tickets, and they can be bought in person at Margin Music Macclesfield, of Market Place.

There's parking at the site of the gig, which is Broken Cross Club, Broken Cross, Macclesfield SK11 8TU.

Luke Brightmore of East Cheshire Hospice had this to say: "We're incredibly grateful that Wychcraft Big Band are fundraising for the Hospice again this year," he said.

"Their concerts are great fun and have raised £6,465.50 for the Hospice over the last eight years.

"We love to see fundraising events like this taking place in our community, and the money raised helps to make a genuine difference to people's lives."

The news comes days after an Easter egg drive was announced for people at East Cheshire Hospice.
