The location of Macclesfield's new dessert parlour has been revealed.

Sweet Dessert Shop has announced it will be taking over 157 London Road, located just a stone's throw from Macclesfield FC's stadium

It takes over the unit currently home to Lazy Joe's cafe, which announced its impending closure on Friday, June 5.

"It's with a heavy heart that I announce we will be closing our doors at Lazy Joe's on Friday, June 12," read a Facebook post shared by Lazy Joe's.

"Thankyou to everyone that supported my first foray into running my own business.

"I have learned so much, laughed and cried along the way, but in the end I have realised that there just isn't the money around to support a business like Lazy Joe's.

"However, with every chapter that ends, there is always a new Sweet beginning..."

Sweet Dessert Shop was first announced in May, with its location initially kept under wraps.

Described as a 'dedicated modern dessert venue', it is set to offer range of premium milkshakes, waffles and coffees.

Providing an update on Friday, June 5, the business posted: "It's been a while and we have had loads of messages off people asking where we are going to be located!

"We can now reveal that we will be taking over 157 London Road, SK11 7SP.

"Work will commence at pace next week when the current business there closes, so we can be open for the World Cup.

"Thankyou for all your comments and support and we look forward to welcoming you to Sweet in a few week's time."

A provisional opening date of June 22 has been set.
