Macclesfield band tease comeback and will release first record on vinyl

By Alex Greensmith 28th Feb 2023

A Macclesfield rock band with millions of streams on Spotify have returned from hibernation.

Racing Glaciers, who haven't released any new music since 2021 but still have over 93,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, remerged with a Facebook post on Friday.

It was there where the band announced that their 2016 debut record Caught in the Strange is to be released on vinyl.

They also revealed that they would be recording new music in the summer.

It is not known whether the new music will lead to a full second album.

The five-piece have over ten million all-time streams on Spotify alone.

The rock band comprises Tim Monaghan, Danny Thorpe, Matt Scheepers, Simon John, and Matt Welch.

You can listen to the band's music by clicking the 'play button' at the top of this article.

They are one of many bands to have 'made it' from playing at Macclesfield grassroots music venue Mash Guru.
