A Macclesfield barbershop has been named the country's best.

Crate Cheshire, who have a branch on Chestergate, have been named the Barbershop/Grooming Salon of the Year at the British Hairdressing Business Awards 2026.

As a third time winner of the award, having previously won in 2021 and 2025, Crate Cheshire will be awarded a prestigious Hall of Fame award at the 2027 ceremony.

Charles Rose, owner of Crate Cheshire said: "Winning this award for the third time is a dream come true – and a real testament to the incredible hard work of our Crate team.

"We're over the moon, and being inducted into the BHBA Hall of Fame is the icing on the cake.

"Excited doesn't even begin to cover how we feel about what 2026 has in store!"

The 2026 British Hairdressing Business Awards took place on Monday, March 2, hosted by Chris Stark, co-host on Capital Breakfast.

Bringing together the very best of the UK hairdressing industry, the awards recognise excellence in business, innovation and leadership, with winners selected by a panel of respected industry experts.

Crate Cheshire impressed the judges with their commitment to both craft and community.

Praised as a 'fantastic effort', the team were recognised for the impactful educational work they deliver within the local area and for investing in the future by training the next generation on their own salon floor.
