Tickets are now available for the 2024 Macclesfield Charity Beer Festival, which will once again take place at Macclesfield Rugby Club over two evenings, on Friday 10 and Saturday 11 May, with a family-friendly day-time event also on the Saturday. Tickets for both the Friday and Saturday evenings are available from MaccBeerFest.co.uk, the Saturday daytime is free to attend.

This year's festival will raise funds for Cheshire Search and Rescue, a volunteer-led organisation which primarily assists Cheshire Police with searches for vulnerable and missing people in the local area, as well as supporting flood response and assisting other emergency services. The funds raised will support the purchase of a much-needed replacement search and rescue boat.

The Macclesfield charity Beer Festival is one of the region's longest-running charity events, having raised over £300,000 in its 27-year history. This year's event is sponsored by local solicitors SAS Daniels, accountancy firm Bennett Brooks, and Spiral Print.

Oliver Buckingham, Cheshire Search and Rescue Water Lead, said: "Over the last 12 – 18 months our current boat has been used a lot more than it ever has, which also takes its toll on the equipment, and it now needs to be replaced with a metal-hulled boat that will make a huge difference to where and how we can deploy."

The Friday and Saturday evenings will open at 7pm with live music, and over 150 beers, ciders and perries on offer, as well as craft larger, wines and prosecco, in addition to a range of gin-based drinks, plus a selection of non-alcoholic beers, wines and soft drinks, as well as a range of food options. Tickets cost £12.50 and include a commemorative glass.

The family-friendly Saturday day time session, which is free to attend, will open from midday until 6pm and offers a range of activities for the whole family, including vintage games, face painting, market stalls, and live music.

James Hogben, commenting on behalf of the Macclesfield Beer Festival Committee and Macclesfield Round Table, said: "We're excited to launch the Macclesfield Charity Beer Festival for 2024, which will this year raise funds for the fantastic Cheshire Search and Rescue. I'd like to say a huge thank you to our main sponsors SAS Daniels, Bennett Brooks and Spiral Print, as well as our amazing volunteers and everyone that comes and supports the event each year. We can't wait to welcome you to the Macclesfield Charity Beer Festival 2024."
